Since yesterday morning Notifications menu is in a permanent state of loading. The only way to close out the menu is the exit to a previous page.
So far I’ve updated chrome to no avail.

Oh good, it wasn’t just me. I’ve been getting to my notifications on mobile by going into my dashboard and reading them there

Try logging out of Kinja, reboot your phone, then log back in.

Mine fixed itself about 10 minutes after making the post. As someone else stated you can go to your account dashboard and see the notifications. It may also be worth to make a comment on one of Forsweden posts and ask what to do.(an active moderator) I believe there is a kinjahelp email but I’m not sure what it’s exact address is.
